A dog who has severe trust issues is hard to approach. They will do everything they can to avoid people. One example of such a dog is Goori, who has been with his owners for two years. Despite being in their care, he has never allowed them to touch him.
Goori lives with his owner, along with several other dogs inside a large pen. The dogs have a lot of room to run around and play. However, Goori prefers to be alone and hide under the house through a hole he dug on the ground.
The owners pulled out all the stops so that Goori would trust them. They offered him food, but he would only eat or come out when no one was around. The owners are sad that in a span of two years, they never experienced touching their dog.
An animal behaviorist arrived to help the owners figure out what to do. According to the expert’s observation, Goori seems to be a special case. Usually, when two years have passed, the dog becomes more open to the owners.
Goori is unique because he also avoids interacting with other dogs. The expert suggests that Goori needs to be put in a smaller space where he can allow himself to be touched. The owners worked with a team to corner Goori.
Even when he was in a tight spot, he still managed to hide in a hole in the ground. It was apparent how much he was afraid of people. Fences were placed around the hole, and the owners left for a while.
Once Goori came out of the hole, he found himself inside a smaller enclosure. It was a good opportunity for the owners to step inside. The expert was able to put the dog on a leash.
The time finally came when the owners could touch Goori. It was a very emotional scene. Once the dog felt the human touch, his demeanor changed. Watch the entire scene below.
