We unconsciously create deep connections with places we spend most of our lives in. While it’s an emotion that’s not easy to digest for some, it’s a feeling a lot of people can relate to. This usually occurs when changing zip codes emerges in the conversation.
It’s like a switch: people suddenly feel a weird tug at their heartstrings. They then jump on a trip down memory lane to look back on all the events that transpired in the house they currently live in. The celebrations, the disputes, the furniture purchased, and so on.
Finding Cleo
You’ll probably find this troublesome to believe, but dogs get attached to places too. Such is the case of Cleo, a four-year-old Labrador from Olathe, Kansas. She sneaked out of their house and went on a 57-mile trek back to their previous residence in Lawson, Missouri.
Her humans had no idea what to do when they discovered that she had gone missing. They searched all over their neighborhood, but there was no sign of her. Albeit crushed, they still did everything they could to find their beloved Cleo. They even went online to get their friends and the people they know to help them find her.
Home is where the Labrador is
Colton Michael, the new owner of Cleo’s previous house, was surprised to see her lying on the porch when he came home one afternoon. She wasn’t wearing a collar, but he noticed that she was too clean and well-groomed to be a homeless pup. He took her to a vet to have her microchip scanned. That’s how he discovered who Cleo’s owners were.
When he called them up to tell them about Cleo’s whereabouts, they were speechless. They said to him that they used to own Michael’s house and that their darling dog must have missed it so much. They could not believe that she traveled a whopping 57 miles just to get there. Learn more about Cleo’s journey below:
