At least 65,000 people live in Kentucky’s Pulaski County. And one of these 65,000 people is a particularly lovely child. Jacob Maggard may be young, but his love and care toward animals, most especially dogs, are exceptional.
Last May, one of Jacob’s neighbors, Cheryl Sears, passed away. In lieu of flowers, the family of Cheryl requested donations to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. Kim, Cheryl’s daughter, is an assistant director there.
This motivated Jacob to do this. Shortly thereafter, the child likewise showed more kindness and compassion toward animals.
This year, the small child did not request for any birthday gifts for himself. Instead, he requested birthday presents he may contribute to the shelter.
Lisa, the mother of Jacob, was highly supportive of his decision. Despite her first disbelief, Lisa was proud of her kid. Her son may still be young but he is already making an impact on society.
Before requesting for any gifts, Jacob compiled a list of items he wished to donate to the shelter. The list included food, other necessities, and toys.
The small boy’s requests were granted as supplies began to arrive sooner than anticipated. Lisa claimed that some of the gifts came from unknown donors and were delivered directly to their residence. Jacob was elated by the outpouring of support because his idea had a positive outcome.
After receiving all of the donations, Jacob and his mother went to the shelter. Jacob’s desire to make the animals at the shelter happy prompted them to donate all of the items they had received.
The volunteers and employees of the animal shelter commended the young kid for his kindness. They hope that many people will read a few pages from Jacob’s book of compassion.
Thank you, Jacob, for that selfless birthday wish! We hope that you become a great model for many people.
