The lives of street dogs have always been difficult. People mistreat them because they are unpredictable. You never know what these dogs have been through in the past, and people tend to be cautious around them or avoid them altogether.
While many people are afraid of stray animals because of their potentially abusive past, others, like the man in this video, are not. Rather than shooing the dog away or kicking and injuring it, the man in the video did something very unexpected.
The video came right from a security camera which was installed in an alleyway with parallel parked cars. Because the man in the video appeared to be inebriated, the camera must have been from a neighboring tavern or pub. The alleyway appeared to be haunted. And on the upper right hand of the video, you can see the date and time of the encounter.
It was approximately five minutes before three a.m. At this hour, the majority of individuals are already asleep. The only people awake are those who have spent the night drinking in pubs or bars, or those who work the nightshift.
After about a minute, a dog appeared on the scene. Given that it was still out and about at three a.m., the dog, a Labrador mix, seems to be a stray.
The dog galloped excitedly through the alleyway, tail wagging the entire time.
A man entered the screen just as the dog was about to escape the camera’s range. The man appeared to be inebriated. That is, at least, what we believe based on the time. The man even danced as he approached the dog.
The man danced around the dog with his arms outstretched, tenderly petting it as if it were his dancing partner. As he prodded the dog to dance with him, he did a couple of playful dancing steps. Whether he’s drunk or not, the guy deserved an “A” for effort and another “A” for how well he treated the stray dog. This man deserved praises for his touching connection with a stray canine.
