One day, a sheriff at Conway, South Carolina, saw a dog that was in awful shape. Gloria, the dog, was suffering from sarcoptic and Demodex mange. The rescuers even expressed that it was the worst one they have ever seen.
The worst thing that happened was, a rescuer asked if it was a cauliflower after seeing Gloria’s picture. Gloria’s illness was so severe that her skin became thick, then cracked and even bled. It bleeds even more if you touch her.
Seeing Gloria only proves that she had been neglected for quite some time. What’s even shocking was, she had little puppies who kept on jumping all over her already painful skin.
For many weeks, poor Gloria had to fend for herself and her babies. How could someone do this to them?
Gloria didn’t only have infected skin, but she was also skin and bones. It almost seemed like the poor dog didn’t have any muscle left in her body. On top of all that, she was also tested positive for heartworms.
The rescuer who found poor Gloria rushed her to the clinic immediately. For the dogs to heal, they had to separate Gloria from her babies.
The poor babies also suffered from mange and parasites. But thankfully, they didn’t have any major illnesses, heartworms, or malnutrition.
Since the rescuer’s center cannot address Gloria’s illnesses, they contacted Mutts and Mittens Manor Rescue and Transport for help, who later agreed to take her in. At first, they thought that Gloria wouldn’t make it, but she proved them all wrong.
At least now we know that Gloria is doing so much better. She’s currently enjoying a nice and comfy life.
Despite the obstacles Gloria already faced, she remains sweet and friendly. Wow, what a little fighter!
