Obal is a very courageous and mischievous Basset Hound pup. She loves to discover new things, and cause trouble. At first, her owners find it hard to keep her steady in one place, until they discovered her foe: the Quaker Oats man.
For some reason, the pup couldn’t stand the image of the mascot with white hair and a fancy hat. Every time Obal sees him, it’s either she runs away in fear or growl at him. Although she tries her best to stand on her ground, there is still no denying that Mr. Quaker Oats is scary!
Obal and the Quaker Oats man’s rivalry began when the pup’s mom found a can of Quaker Oats. She thought that the pooch will enjoy chasing the container and it’s going to be an exciting experience. However, the minute that she rolled the container toward the pup, she began to freak out. The naughty pup flee in fear and barked to frighten the stranger.
Of course, it was never the intention of Opal’s mom to scare her, so she immediately hid the can of Quaker Oats. For some time, it was kept inside a cupboard, invisible to the eyes of the pup. It remained there until the pooch’s mom went out of town for a number of days.
According to Addie Crawford, the daughter of Opal’s owner, the pup wasn’t so happy that their mom left them, so the pup created some problematic quirks to show them her discontent.
All of a sudden, the pooch started stealing dish towels from the dishwasher’s handle. She would grab and hide them near her bed as her retaliation. Her family wasn’t happy about it so they called the help of Mr. Quaker Oats to handle the situation.
Unluckily, Opal lost to the Quaker Oats man once again. When Crawford placed the container in front of the dishwasher, the pup stopped sneaking dish towels. As a matter of fact, she tried her very best to stay away from the Quaker Oats can by any means necessary. Oftentimes, she would go the extra mile to walk close to it and stop just to bark at her rival.
Yet sadly, the pup still has never won a fight against Mr. Quaker Oats. He remains to stand guard of the towels, which only makes the frightened Opal angrier.
Thanks to Mr. Quaker Oats, the dishtowels are now safe from being stolen by Opal. But for the pooch, of course, this fight isn’t over yet, not until she won.
