In January, a man named Davin Deshon was reported missing by his daughter. Two days later, Davin was discovered unresponsive in his vehicle.
But Davin was not alone in his car when the incident happened. His pet dog Buddy was also present. According to the Placer County deputies, Davin may have perished while attempting to drive through a severe snowfall.
While Davin was pronounced dead upon rescue, Buddy was in fair health. Buddy became distressed when police officials began removing his master’s body from the vehicle. It was a tragic scene as the dog attempted to wake Davin by licking his face.
When Davin’s family learned of his passing, they were devastated. However, they were greatly comforted by the fact that Davin did not die alone, as Buddy was by his side.
David’s daughter, Shona, is familiar with Buddy, as he has been her father’s dog for nearly a decade.
Buddy was brought to a clinic for a stress debriefing following his rescue. Buddy also had a battery of tests to determine whether or not he is in excellent health.
Buddy’s story of loyalty attracted a large audience, and letters of support began to come in for the dog. There were also kind Samaritans who inquired about Buddy’s care now that Davin is deceased.
When asked by the police officers if she would adopt the puppy, Shona declined. This is because her flat does not permit dogs. This shattered the hearts of the police officers, but thankfully, a large number of individuals agreed to adopt the dog permanently.
It did not really take that long for the police officers to find Buddy a new home. A woman named Lisa Lomeli and her husband were the dog’s fortunate adopters. Lisa stated that they are grateful for the opportunity to care for a devoted canine like Buddy.
