A concerned citizen contacted the animal rescue organization Hope For Paws to notify them about Leslie, an injured stray dog. The group then dispatched a crew of rescuers to investigate the situation and rescue the dog if needed.
When they arrived, they discovered Leslie cowering beneath a parked vehicle on the road.
The rescuers began coaxing the dog to them by feeding her snacks to help her become accustomed to their presence. But Leslie was unsure if she could trust them, so she left them behind and fled. Soon, they found out that Leslie sought refuge with a caring family, which made it easier for the team to apprehend her.
They coaxed Leslie back into the family’s enclosed yard and enlisted the aid of one of the children in putting a leash on her. Fortunately, the dog did not object to the child tying her up, so they completed the task quickly.
The rescuers then placed Leslie in a cage and took her to their facility.
Upon reaching the facility, the team bathed Leslie and then saw that she had an injured leg which they examined. Results revealed that she had an old fracture on her left hind hock, necessitating repeated corrective procedures so that it would function like normal.
After a year of recuperation, the rescuers located a loving woman who was eager to adopt and care for the animal.
It’s really amazing that there are individuals willing to help dogs in need. This shows us all that even if strays have lived their entire lives on the streets, still deserve to be lovingly taken care of and be given a good life off the dangerous streets.
Leslie has also proven to us that dogs like her can still be good companions and friends. They just need care and love.
