Roo, a two-legged Chihuahua, found a best friend who also had two legs. However, this friend is not a canine. It is Penny the Silkie Chicken. Despite being different from one another, the two have become inseparable the moment they met.
Penny was first adopted by Alicia Williams who works as a receptionist at the Duluth Animal Hospital. The lovely chicken was only a few weeks old when she was rescued from a testing facility. Not long after, Alicia met Roo who was abandoned in a ditch.
Despite being a special needs dog, Alicia was firm on adopting Roo. She knew that she needed to commit to all his needs but Alicia was ready to shower her with love, nevertheless. As she welcomed Roo into her home, Penny was delighted to meet the doggo as well.
Every day, Alicia would bring both Roo and Penny to the Duluth Animal Hospital. Everyone knows them and the staff absolutely adore having them around. While their hooman works at the front desk, Roo and Penny would be there as well to welcome their clients.
Everyone who enters the hospital gets surprised whenever they see these friendly animals. Most of them haven’t seen a precious silkie chicken like Penny before and most people have not seen a two-legged Chihuahua. They find it really amazing and enjoy spending time with them.
Luckily, one of their clients fell in love with Roo and Penny’s story that they decided to sponsor the money needed to get the doggo a customized wheelchair. Thanks to this person’s kindness, Roo can now roll around and play freely like every other dog.
As best friends Roo lets Penny roll around with him whenever they play. They also love cuddling with each other and don’t mind being together 24/7. Alicia is so happy to have them and would love to see both Roo and Penny grow old together.
