Oscar was found walking on the streets of New York with his lower body trailing behind him. People felt bad for the poor dog, so they took him to the local animal shelter. His rescuers believed that his owners had abandoned him due to his condition.
However, due to his disability, Oscar was placed on the euthanasia list. The shelter staff thought that no one would adopt the dog due to his specific requirements. They believed that the dog would be best off if he were put to sleep.
Fortunately for Oscar, a volunteer rescue organization called NY Pet-i-Car discovered him and offered him a second chance at life.
Oscar was placed in foster care, where he once again experienced the warmth and affection of a family. Numerous veterinarians examined the dog and they all concluded that there was no treatment for his condition. Nevertheless, despite his disability, the dog was full of life.
The rescue group believed that Oscar was a suitable candidate for a wheelchair, so they made every effort to raise the necessary funds for a customized set of wheels.
The dog cherished his newfound mobility and constantly practiced using the chair. Soon, he used it as if he had been born with it. Oscar was on the move everywhere! The dog’s happiness increased as a result of this.
Oscar was quickly adopted by a loving family. They thought his actions to be rather humorous and began uploading images and videos of their dog online. Many individuals were captivated by his charisma, and the posts were widely shared.
Oscar’s fan base began to increase, and he became a New York superstar. People would notice him when he walks or participates in events. The best part is that he has been using his fame to encourage people to adopt disabled canines so that they will not be euthanized in shelters.
