The Tails Humane Society of DeKalb, Illinois said that they rescued 44 canines from a hoarding situation. The team that went to rural Mississippi where dogs have been hoarded reported that the poor dogs they saved were living in devastating conditions.
The shelter posted on Facebook that the elderly couple who had been caring for the dogs became overwhelmed by the number of animals they had. The rescue squad was appreciative that the couple reached out for assistance.
Within 24 hours, they had mobilized, loaded their vehicles with the necessary supplies, and traveled to the property. They also began working immediately upon arriving there.
According to the rescuers, the canines definitely have gone through different forms of cruelty. Some of them were infested with ticks and fleas, while others had skin problems and matting. In addition, seven puppies tested positive for heartworm disease.
The shelter provided care for the dogs before placing them in foster homes. According to the rescuers, none of the 44 dogs knew the safety and security of a home where they had a warm bed and nutritious food. They had never experienced the affection of a family.
The shelter released an update on the rescue dogs over the weekend. They expressed gratitude for everyone’s assistance, which made the rescue possible. According to them, they could not be prouder or more appreciative of the foster families.
Now, the abused dogs are beginning to relax and are also becoming more at ease in their foster homes.
In the photographs released by the shelter, several of the animals appeared to be puppies enjoying their new surroundings. They were also seen napping with their foster families and cuddling.
According to the shelter, the dogs are now resting in their own comfy beds and eating nutritious meals on a daily basis. In addition to receiving all the necessary medical treatment, their foster parents also give them affection.
