A couple, Cliff and Abby, was on vacation when they stumbled upon a dog locked up in a cage in the Great Wall of China. They supposed he was there as a guard dog, but they agreed he deserved a life better than what he had. He should have food and water and a shelter enough to protect him from extreme weather. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any of those.
Emaciated, matted, weak, and cold, the dog, now Wally, had to be rescued right away. With the help of a local animal rescue group, Cliff and Abby managed to get him to safety. But their good deeds didn’t end there. Immediately, they applied to adopt him and they did everything to ensure he went home with them.
Wally needed a little time to regain his strength, so while he had to stay behind, his new parents remained optimistic. And once he was home, they welcomed him warmly and gave him a tour of his new house. He sniffed every corner and made himself comfortable right away.
Cliff and Abby gave Wally everything he needed to become healthy, strong, and happy. They watched him grow in size and in personality. They were ecstatic to see him progress and they knew they did the right thing of bringing him home.
Shortly after the couple adopted their dog, Cliff and Abby learned they were pregnant. In no time, they brought Annika home and Wally was curious about her. He was so amazed but he quickly picked up that she was a new member of their family.
Wally rarely showed affection to his parents. But when his baby sister came, he became passionate and warm. He sniffed the back of her head, licked her hands, and bopped her feet with his snout.
As days went by, Wally and Annika’s relationship just became deeper. He protected her at all costs and she made his life more complete.
Annika was only 15 pounds and Wally was about 135. Surely, they varied in size. But no matter their differences, they shared the same love and connection. They were each other’s best buddies and that’s what mattered the most.
