The town of Wolcott was experiencing terrible weather when a resident in a small neighborhood spotted a grim-looking dog that wandered inside his property. The pooch looked malnourished and was shivering from the icy cold weather. It had just snowed heavily, and a storm was passing the area.
The homeowner immediately got in touch with the local animal control. Soon, they were on their way to pick up the Blue Mastiff. And when the rescuers were about to close in on her, the dog bolted. She got scared of the humans that were trying to get near her.
Dangerous location
The dog, who was later called Stormy, ran out of the property and went across the street. Despite not being in the best condition, she was soon gone. The animal control authorities knew that there was a possibility that the weather may get worse. So they set out to find her.
With some of the residents joining in, they spread around the neighborhood and relentlessly searched. After a couple of hours, they found Stormy hiding inside a storm drain. She just got herself in a more complicated and dangerous situation.
The drain was full of rushing water, and she may get swept away by the strong current. The dark and wet tunnel leads to a reservoir, and they have to get her out before she ends up there and drowns. The rescuers called for more help.
Out of danger
With the help of firefighters and local rescue volunteers, they developed a complex plan that utilized various contraptions. Slowly and safely, they extracted the dog without anyone getting hurt.
Stormy was then rushed to an animal hospital. There they discovered that she was used for breeding and was severely neglected. Other than that, the nine-year-old dog was declared fine. After a short stint at the hospital, she was brought to the Wolcott Dog Pound.
Stormy stayed in the pound for some time, but eventually, she found a new family. She has been adopted and had found his forever dad. She even had a new canine brother to play and bond with.
